Going to the Light : the first LED lighting City will be installed in Israel

Israeli cities Ma’alot-Tarshiha launched the public lighting renovation project of the entire city called ” Going to the Light ” on September 9 in, which also means the city will become the world’s first city where the LED lighting will be used to comprehensively coverage the public lighting.

According to the plan, 13,000 LED lamps plans to be installed in the city’s public spaces and streets in Ma’alot-Tarshiha City, LED lamps will all be completely replaced before the end of the year. The total investment of the LED lighting project is about 12 million NIS (about 20.63 million yuan), in which the municipal subsidy is 500 million shekels, the project cost of inputs is from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

The city’s municipal is expected that the city where there is only 20,000 people will save more than 80% of the cost of electricity for public lighting after the completion of the renovation project, which amounted to approximately NIS 3.5 million per year,the total will reach at least 25 million NIS in the next ten year.

Municipal indicates that the project will start that the cost recovery within three years. The city’s deputy mayor Silas · Liberia said, the savings funds by means of the LED lighting will be used for energy efficiency, infrastructure and water and other related projects.
